About Ecuador
Ecuador is located in the northwest corner of South America, between Colombia & Peru. Named after the equator, it is one of the smallest countries in South America. The estimated population of Ecuador as of 2023 was around 18 400 million.
There is great variety in the climate, primarily determined by altitude. It is mild year-round in the mountain valleys, with a humid subtropical climate in coastal areas and rainforest in the lowlands. Puerto Lopez boasts temperatures between 60- and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ecuador has four unique landscapes: Amazon Rainforest, Andes Mountains, Beaches, and the Galapagos Islands. With beautiful beaches, thriving cities, and scenic mountains, Ecuador has a diverse landscape that will appeal to the beach bum, mountaineer, environmentalist, and everything in between.
